INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Make sure damaged areas are clean and free of dirt, grease and wax, etc.

  2. Enough Gel Coat should be added to a plastic mixing cup to make the repairs. One of the six basic colors may match the gel coat. If so, mix approximately 1 part pigment to 20 parts gel coat. The pigments can be intermixed to achieve various shades.

NOTE: There could be slight color differences.

TIP: Use the thickening powder to make a gel paste. The gel paste will help fill large areas without sagging. Apply a coat of NON Thickened gel coat after for best results.

  3. After the color has been matched, take enough of the pigmented gel coat to fix a damaged area. Place it on a clean piece of cardboard and mix with several drops of liquid hardener.

NOTE: adding hardener will darken the color slightly Four drops of hardener in 1 teaspoon of gel paste will give approximately 15 minutes of working time before the material begins to "gel." Mix the liquid hardener thoroughly into the gel coat.

  4. Apply catalyzed gel coat to the damaged area, working in into the area with a spatula or plastic spreader. Squeeze off the excess material.

  5. This Gel Coat contains wax. Make sure that you sand each coat prior to adding any additional coats of gel coat.

  6. Deep damaged areas may require several applications.

  7. The repaired area should be sanded with 600 grit wet sandpaper. Then, the area should be buffed with a fine rubbing compound and waxed.

Easy to use

Overall, a very good product. Matching colors with the original gel coat color is tricky and I didnt get it quite right, but thats not that big a deal to me. The repair is quite acceptable, particularly given the fact that I had no previous experience with gel coat repairs - directions were very straightforward. Be sure to use this in a well- ventilated area!

Easy to use but..

Product was easy to use. The color match is a little tricky. Hard to get an exact match. Went on solid and sanded easy to blend in. However, after about 3 months, some of it did flake off. I did used it on the bottom of transom. So may have lasted longer if it was not under water.
