MEKP Catalyst Hardener For Resins and Gelcoat

MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) is a catalyst used in the composites industry for polyester and vinyl ester resins and gel coats. It reacts with the resin to turn it from a liquid to a solid (cure it). It is used in varying ratios, generally use around 1%-3%, depending on the product being used.

  • Known as MEKP Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide Hardener Catalyst
  • This is a general purpose use MEKP.
  • Activator for polyester resin, gelcoat, ester based products.
  • Should always be handled with care, using the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Used for hardening, activating, and curing polyester resins, vinyl-ester resins, gelcoats.

Each True Composites resin product is available as a kit with a sufficient amount of MEKP. However, MEKP may be purchased individually, as shown here.

Good stuff. Fair price.

I have no complaints with the polyester laminating resin. Works well and I consider good value for the money.
